Early on in our relationship, my wife Michelle, who didn’t come from a hunting family, took joy in asking me about the taxidermy I had on my walls. She was amazed at how I remembered the details of each individual mount: type of deer, where it was harvested, year of harvest, hunting party, the hunt, the pack out, etc.
After years of her questioning about the mounts, Michelle figured she had asked too many times. For Christmas of 2020, she had tags made for each mount with the basic information of the hunt on them. Unwrapping each tag was a bit emotional as memories flooded my mind. I immediately explained to her that it was a brilliant idea and could be a great business opportunity for us. We work opposite schedules and starting a business would be a great way for us to spend each day together. Later, in 2023, I discussed the idea to a friend, Nic, while on an elk hunt together in Colorado. Being a business man and entrepreneur himself, he gave all of the encouragement and advice to start the business. I came home from that hunt and told Michelle that we were starting our dream business: Trophy Tags.
Truly,
